Hair Type :: Very Curly Hair BOTTOM LINE: LOVE this product!Comments: The texture of my hair is different in the front compared to the back. I have wavy manageable hair in the front and extremely coarse curly hair in the back. I have tried many products to straighten my hair but find that on the second day my hair becomes oily. I use the mixed chicks shampoo and conditioner followed by the shine serum while my hair is wet. I then use the paddle brush to blow dry my hair. I flat iron the back only. I am able to go 3 days without washing my hair without it feeling oily and the hair remains straight! Amazing! I love that it is light-weight and I feel like I don't have any products in my hair. I can sleep on it, work out, put it up, and put it down and a little touch up with a hairdryer does the trick. I even apply a light spritz of hairspray each day. I too would love this product in a larger size. I only need to use 2-3 pumps on medium length hair. |

I use the product on my daughter's hair and we LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! She is mixed with Hispanic and Black and overall has wash and go hair, but once it dries the curls don't hold shape. Since I started using this 3 days ago, she has received more compliments on how great her hair looks than ever! I have referred this product to everyone, who has curly or mixed hair. It gets extremely dry and since I am trying to go natural, as soon as I go outside it has a tendancy to crimp back up. I put this product in my hair while it was wet before I blow-dried and then blow dried and straightened my hair. It turned out pretty good. I usually use Silky Sexy Hair serum which is twice the price of this and I think that this hair product works just as well for less money. My hair is still a little dry at the ends, I'm not sure if there is maybe a mixed chicks product that would help cure that as well =) |

Hair Type :: Wavy Hair BOTTOM LINE: This is the best part!!!Comments: The washing and conditioning trio would be a let down without the hair silk. I can't give it 5 stars though because I disagree with the claim that it can be used on dry hair. It's pretty ineffective unless I at least dampen my hair first, so it's not too good for revitalizing bedhead. I apply 3-4 pumps after the leave-in conditioner and finger comb it through to fluff. Then my hair dries super silky and shiny. I think it also helps the curl relax a little after the super tightening leave-in. Most mornings, I don't have time for the 3-step process, so I dampen the areas that got slept on the most and add 1-2 pumps of the silk to replenish the texture. It's not magical, but it helps. The wetter, the better. Using it dry feels like using a spray sheen, it just kind of sits on top. |

I was disappointed in this product because I'm new to mixed chicks been using it about two months now and so far I love the entire line, I even got the kids line for my daughter. This product didn't do anything for my hair, it looked the same, I guess maybe my hair already shines. I expected a gloss, shine but I didn't get anything out of it. This product is gentle, it's not greasy and it smells awesome! It just didn't work for me, I tried it on my hair wet and I tried it with my hair dry. I would still recommend this product. Mixed chicks made me love my curls!
