She is biracial (black/white) and one section of her hair is very dry. I love the leave in conditioner, but I would have to say the shampoo leaves much to be desired. I do not like how her hair feels when I use this shampoo, almost seems to be drying her hair out even more!? MixedChicks.net responds: If one section of her hair is dry, try adding a bit of oil after shampooing. You can mix that (just a bit) with the leave in. In turn she has thick curly hair wit tight tendrils.I look for a shampoo that feels good and soft during the wash because i know it will hold the moisture and help not to tangle the curls. I think the shampoo needs more moisture and less alcohol. Because it makes the curls tangle during the wash. Hoiwever the conditioners are great for adding moisture and defining the curls. Love those; as well as, the tangle tamer. MixedChicks.net responds: The kids shampoo should not be drying. Perhaps try using a bit less. One trick is to ad a few drops of olive oil before shampooing. I am Brazilian and my husband is black, so my girls are what we call "Blatina" and I have black on my Brazilian side. All that to say that my girls hair are very curly and dry. I used the shampoo in hope it was going to do the wonders that the other mixed chicks products offer, but it dries their hair too much. I definitely need to use the amazing deep in conditioner and leave in conditioner, which the kid's product line is best for my daughter than the regular one, because this one does not dry her hair and it does not make it hard. The other does. The shampoo is not for all hair type either. MixedChicks.net responds: Mixed Chicks kids shampoo can be used on any hair type. Some people should perhaps shampoo only 1x per week. It was recommended by my hair stylist for my four year old son. She gave me samples and I love it. My son's hair is curly and defined already, but I noticed when he went swimming his hair started to get damage and Mixed chicks restored it back to it's original luster. This product worked great on my straight, oily hair, but it made my 1 yo son's 3a, 3b hair feel like hay! If you want to use it for curly hair, but find it's 2 strong, try diluting it with conditioner! For my son I use 2in1 shampoo diluted with conditioner followed by more conditioner, followed by MixedChicks leave in conditioner. It works great!
