I bought this to use on my 8 year old daughter who is mixed Hispanic & Black and it worked wonders. I wet her hair every morning then work this through her hair and style however she wants. It dries without becoming frizzy and holds her curls beautifully. It use to take me at 45 minutes to get through all the snarls every morning but now it's about a 10 minute process and we are out the door to school. She can even wear her down without a pony tail for the 1st time ever without being worried it's going to look like a Lion as she says. We get soooo many compliments on her hair now it is a true gift.

MixedChicks.net responds: You may want to try our sulfate free shampoo. It does not have heavy lathering properties. Another trick is to you our deep every so often without shampoo at all. The deep will cleanse enogh and moisturize at the same time.

I have very thick and heavy curls and am a very busy mom, when I get out of the shower I just separate my hair into sections and apply the leave in conditioner and go. Do not blow dry your hair let it air dry! Takes me 10 minutes. I also use it for my daughter who is 5 and it keeps her curls locked in and no frizz.

I'm mixed black/white. My hair care routine varies weekly its just terrible. I buy different products every week for my hair (expensive) with no joy. Doing my hair has been a very depressing job never knowing how its gonna turn out with nothing but disappointment. Had a friend tell me that it does not work. I'm happy I tired it for myself. Never been one to listen to other people. I have very thick hair with many textures. After wetting my hair I put this product thru my hair and my curls came thru. Love that. It was like instant the cream got it. Love that and my hair loved it too giving it shine as well. However, I had to keep rubbing it in for the cream to get into my hair otherwise it was white. This is not really a big deal for me. I did disappear after me working it in more.

I am a professional hairstylist with very curly hair. I have tried so many products, even though caucasian, have hair that is more similar to ethnic...curly and can be frizzy. Frustrated with many products that just werent giving me the curl texture I was looking for. I was at the IBS Convention at the Javitz Center in NY and the woman who was working the booth at the Mixed Chicks booth called me over, handed me samples of the deep conditioner and the leave-in. She told me to try them and how to use them. I finally tried them this week and I am blown away! My curls are gorgeous ringlets...no frizz....love these products. Want to carry them in my salon. In real estate, time is everything. As a busy investor, my schedule doesn't allow an hour to do my hair. Mixed Chicks takes 10 minutes, yielding great results! I apply the leave-in & let it air-dry going out the door! After using the trial-size, I was hooked and bought the set. Recently, I was out of everything but found a salon that carries it. I bought the liter size leave-in, put some of it in a smaller bottle mixed with some water. It goes a long way. This product is slammin....I love what it does for my locks!

Being mixed Ive always had to use 3-4 products in my hair ( leave in, styler, oil, and at times even hairspray just to get some volume AND using a diffuser) This is the ONLY product that my curls look amazing just by using it alone and letting it air dry. The first day I used it I started getting complements on the difference.

So, 11 of my sorority sisters and myself (12 total) had a sleepover this past weekend. We had purchased two of the big liter bottles of the leave in conditioner previously and distributed it amongst all of us to use for a period of two weeks. The results were as follows: 3 girls loved the product 3 girls said it was good 4 girls said it was just ok 2 girls did not like the conditioner All of us have differing curls and waves and our races are also mixed. We have one girl who is mixed black/puerto rican, two dominican ladies, one black/irish, another black/native american/french, two french, one white/black, 3 blacks, and I am black/asian. With so many different ethnicities trying the product we were bound to get varying results. After two weeks of trying the product in different ways we all concluded the following: Pros *curl pattern is defined *conditioner smells really good *conditioner also does not weigh the hair down Cons *the conditioner dries extremely hard regardless of how much/little is used *finish is kind of dull/matte *is kind of flaky *some kind of coating (we think the emulsified wax) *dried out hair (not everyone's, but over half) Conclusion Not a bad product. Not a wonderful product. It's in the middle, but leans more toward better than bad. It's a good product if you add things to it like gels or oils or sheens/glosses, but on its own we wanted to give it 3.5 stars overall. Unfortunately we weren't able to give a half rating and didn't feel that 4 stars would have been a truthful rating based on all of our experiences. We all put a number in a hat and then took the average of those numbers to get approximately 3.5. While the conditioner did dry hard, we saw through other reviews that we should rub our hands through our hair to break up the "crunch." This did work, but unfortunately loosed the hold of the curls :( and created more frizz for us (the ladies mixed with french and irish and the black/white girl did not like that collectively - they had more frizz than the rest of us). Some of us would recommend it and some of us wouldn't. It just depends on what type of hair you have. In looking through all of the videos and tutorials this product looks like it works a little better on Wendi's hair than on Kim's.

I've used a lot of products and thought that based on all the wonderful reviews this would be a pretty good conditioner. But this dries SO hard and is flaky when adding some for touch ups. That totally sucks because the hold isn't all that great so you need some for touch ups. Was shocked my frizz wasn't kept in balance like I'd hoped for. It does a good job defining the curls, but unfortunately it doesn't last long.

Well, I have mixed feelings about this product. The positives are that it smells really good and does help with holding a curl pattern. I was really hoping, however, to be impressed with this product based on the reviews and continual use. I've applied this product many ways many different times so I'm reviewing it after having used it on almost a daily basis for over three months and observing. What I immediately noticed about this product was that it dries extremely hard. I tried to use less of the product hoping that would work, but this product just dries hard. Running your fingers through your hair helps, but when it dried in my hair it looked like a package of ramen noodles does when you take it out of the package before you cook it. So that was the first thing I didn't like. It was also a little dull and I don't like to add additional oils and glosses to my hair to get the shine that I expected from a conditioner. The second thing was that, while the product is not greasy, there is some kind of waxy film that is left on the hair and I don't really care for that. I was surprised that my frizz wasn't controlled as much as I expected either. Basically, if you run your hands through your hair to loosen up that hard, crunchy feeling it gets frizzy. Since I have such a major problem with frizz I was really hoping this would be one of the areas that I could count on the leave-in conditioner. I don't wash my hair every single day and I just have some of the conditioner in a spray bottle with some water mixed in. But it makes my hair flaky if I use any of the conditioner on my hair once it's dried already. I don't know... it's really expensive to have some of the issues that it has and on top of all that, the product has an overwhelming number of parabens in it. This conditioner is ok, but I've been using the Shea Moisture line lately and it's just as good for less than half the price. It's a little oilier (because of the shea butter obviously), but you have to add olive oil or some other glosser or oil to this condition anyway to loosen up the crunch from how hard it dries anyway. Everyone's hair is different and not everything will work for everyone. I have different textures in my hair as well as having both curly AND wavy part of my hair. I can see myself maybe using this as a backup product or something. It's not a bad product, but for me it's not a one-step product either.

The leave in conditioner is fabulous! I use it regularly. After washing and conditioning my hair I put in the product, depending on the time I have I will use a diffuser @ low speed or just allow air drying, but always, my curls are beautiful. I am not mixed (caucasian), but I do have very curly hair that I color every 4 weeks. I use this product every day. I've gotten so many compliments on my hair/my curls. I've tried everything else out there and now, during the humid summer months - I have curls, not frizz. The only draw back is that I have to use a lot of this product (I'd say 2x as much as any other leave in) and it does work better if I apply it to very wet hair or on top of another leave in conditioner; however, that won't stop me from using it!

I've wanted to wear my hair curly for a while, but I'd never get to the point of letting the relaxer grow all the way out. Well, my hair is short at the moment and I still have about 1 1/2" of relaxer in the top, but this conditioner makes it curl anyway. I love the way my hair looks when it dries. This time I will finally get all the relaxer out, once it grows some more--but until then I'll wear it curly :-).

This product was recommended to me by a friend that uses it. I took the leap and spent the money on the entire line. At first I was incredibly disappointed. My hair was frizzier than normal and just did not look good. Part of that is probably due to the fact I hadn't used real shampoo in over a year. I stopped using the shampoo and I went back to condition washing. This helped a lot and I think my hair just needed time to adjust to a new product. I do like it quite a bit now. The only drawback is the price.

I have been using this product for over 2 years and I love it. Frizz, what frizz? when used correctly the product will eliminate frizz (use your fingers as a rake to define the curls NOT a brush or comb). The only negative is that sometime the product can leave the front part of my hair crunchy. I use the same amount of product (1 pump) on each section yet it only gets crunchy up there. I think the water retained on the top of my head mixed w/the product is causing it. yet,by the next day the crunch is GONE.

i am mixed and have extremely thick hair and this products holds all my waves and curls for days and leaves my hair feeling moisturized too. I would definitely reccomend this to anyone looking to for a good leave in conditioner. The only thing is it can make your hair a bit hard/sticky but it goes away the next day and that doesn't really bother me because I really need the hold.

I have never been so disappointed with the purchase of a hair product until now. I only brought the leave-in-conditioner thinking that it would work just as good as the many reviews on here state. But it did not. I was very disappointed in the fact that this conditioner left my hair feeling very dry and dull looking. This was something that I was not expecting. I thought that this conditioner would work just as good or better than the current conditioner that I am using, but it did not. Thanks but no thanks. I will stick to what works best for me, which is not this leave-in-conditioner.

I have so many other conditioners, as every curly head does. But this product is a life saver! I absolutely love it - it makes my hair a lot curlier (more so w/a Denman brush). I have purchased 2 liters since 9-28-10 and I have half left in the 2nd bottle, but I stopped using it as much. I recommend it to every curly head I talk to, but now with a disclaimer. This was because I found that the products were drying out my scalp and causing flakiness and I was scratching my head every 10 minutes, not cute! I am not mixed per say. Both my parents are black, but my mom's grandmother was pure Indian. So for the many curly heads that are not black and white, I think that because maybe our hair is less oily and needs more moisture, the product causes us to dry out. I have come across 4 or 5 other people who have stopped using it for the same reason. So "Mixed Chicks" we need more moisture!!! I heard I can try adding olive oil or some type of oil, so I will see how that works out. So I use another shampoo for dry scalp and the MC Leave-in-Conditioner. FYI, for the parents who have curly toddlers (like 3 or 4) and above that have raggedy ends, get them 2 or 3 trims every 6 weeks, don't cut it all @ once; soak it and get some mixed chicks product in it or some moisturizing conditioner (not a leave-in)- You will experience a double miracle for yourself and your child will love you for less pain. 4 girls later, I know :) Cheers!

Before this product, I looked like a dandelion gone to seed unless I totally air-dried my hair, left alot of leave-in product and glaze and DID NOT comb or brush my hair the whole day. Each morning was a wet down, and do-over. THANKS for making my morning routine, faster, easier with better resutls. As long as you make this product I will be a faithful customer! Awesome.

Hello everyone! I am a mixed chick (half-Greek, half-Guyanese) with crazy hair. Its thick and a similar length to Kim's hair, but I suffer from "multi-textured hair syndrome." The front is definitely more manageable than the middle and back. It has more of a wave curl, but there are some straight parts on the left that never want to curl. The middle of my hair is VERY thick. From the crown to the nape, my hair is like an afro but then the ends thin out (maybe that means i need a cut, idk). Then the bottom and sides are thick but have my favorite type of curls (similar to those Kim has at the bottoms of her hair). Doing my hair is a battle everyday and my girlfriend just shakes her head and says she feels sorry for me and all that hair lol. I can never find a product to hydrate my hair, control the frizz while giving it movement, and make all the curls the same. Whether that uniformity ends up being a looser or kinkier curl doesn't really matter to me once it's all the same. I had a lot of faith in MIXED CHICKS after reading reviews and doing research, so I went out and bought the shampoo, deep conditioner, and jumbo leave-in conditioner because if it did work, I knew I would want a lot of it on-hand. For the leave-in conditioner. I have mixed feelings about it. The GOOD: smells good, detangles, defines curls, easy combing. It does a SO-SO job on my hair in terms of shine (sometimes yes, sometimes no), frizz control, and curl definition (because I can't get the curls uniformed). The BAD: I get no movement because it dries so stiff on my hair. Also, I was hoping it would help with shrinkage but it still shrinks up so much and I hate that because I love the length when it's wet. I wonder what I should do to get better results from this product. Watching youtube videos that show how others use the product has helped some, but because every mixed chick has a different hair texture, we all have to use the product in a different way. I will keep experimenting and hopefully find the right method for me to get the best out of MIXED CHICKS because I do like the product right now, but I want to LOVE it. :)

MixedChicks.net responds: Try combing through your tangles a little longer with the deep conditioner. That may even out the curls. As for dryiing hard, you can run your fingers through your hair once it is dry. That will break up any crunch. When it comes to shine, our hair silk can be addded into the mix wet or dry. I ran out of the deep conditioner two weeks ago and decided to try and get by with my regular shampoo and Mane & Tail leave-in conditioner and a liquid olive oil. FAIL! Not only was it considerably more work, but it didn't look NEARLY as good as when I used the Mixed Chicks products. I literally sped from work to the mall before it closed so that I could pick up another liter of the leave-in conditioner. That was it for me. I found something I love and I'm staying with it from now on. It is a little expensive, but it's not obnoxiously priced at all and the liter lasts me for a very long time and I wash my hair often. You also get what you pay for... I'd rather shell out a few extra bucks for the results I get from this product. The ONLY minor complaint that I have is that the product dries a LITTLE hard, but that could very well just be my hair type (I have long thin, very wavy and curly hair). I found that after I rubbed my hair in between my hands a little bit it softened up right away! Seriously, though, people are always raving about my hair and telling me how fantastic it looks. I wash my hair every other day and use the leave-in conditioner every day. Usually I just put a little conditioner in a spray bottle and add some water then use it like that in the morning if I don't feel like re-wetting my entire head. I also don't towel dry my hair after I wash it... I just apply the leave-in conditioner to my wet hair after I've squeezed a little water out so that it's not sopping wet. I've tried towel drying and applying the conditioner and that also works well, but I've found that using it on my hair when it's really wet works better for me; it distributes more evenly that way and also you use less of it that way. All in all I LOVE THIS STUFF!

I have searched so many years trying to find a product that maintains my curls, and keeps shine without looking like a jheri curl, and mixed chicks is it!!! I no longer use gel, and I have noticed my hair breaks less with this product. I can style my hair in less than 20 minutes, and it holds ALL DAY!!!! I deep condition my hair every morning in the shower, then I use a huge hair clip and part my hair in sections to apply mixed chicks leave in conditioner. I also use a spray bottle that has some of the mixed chicks leave in as well. I do this to my entire head of hair and then let it air dry. I recommend this all the time to my fellow naturals as well as on twitter, and facebook!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE This product!!!

I use this everyday, wet hair, my hair is medium length, very curly, I put one big blob in work it through well with hair quite wet, scrunch upside down, then kind of arrange my hair how I want it and let air dry, once it's dry, I can touch it as much as I want scrunch fluff, and it still looks great. Stays soft, in control through wind, snow, people playing with it, humidity. I have never used something I like as much, ever!!! And people want to touch it, cause it's amazingly soft. :-)

We use this product daily: Me - I am mixed with English, German, and Greek and hair that is thin, but wavy Daughter - She is mixed with (me) and 50% African-American and hair that is thick, curly, and needs special attention I wash my hair with shampoo every other day while using the leave-in conditioner daily. My daughter washes her hair 1-2 times each week while using the leave-in conditioner daily. I use a quarter-sized amount, while she uses 2-3 times as much. It's perfect for each of us because the same product works well on both of our heads... just in different quantities. We both wear our hair naturally; mine is wavy, while hers is curly. This product is light-weight, conditioning (without being oily), smells nice, and doesn't leave flakes, crusty stuff, or anything else bad in the hair. We have tried expensive and cheap products from salons, drug stores, chain stores, and other online retailers in the past. This is the product that we keep coming back to because nothing else works as well.

After I had washed and wrung the excess water from my hair, I applied about a handful of Mixed Chicks conditioner to it and went to bed. I have dry curly frizzy hair and used to keep my hair in a braided ponytail. My daughter was going through the relaxer phase with breakage and all that comes with relaxers to control her tight curls. She wanted to join the swim team but couldn't because relaxers+chlorine=disaster then a friends cousin recommended this product to us. We tried it and 'LOVED IT'. This product is the best stuff on EARTH!!. I've have literally purchased every product that "says" it will work for curly hair. Before trying the Mixed Chicks Leave-In conditioner, I had at least 20 bottles of other products that didn't work under my sink in my bathroom. I've tossed them all. This is all you need. My hair is soft, holds its curl, even through the humidity, wind and the rain!!! My hair hair has never looked better and I've never received so many compliments. I am always quick to respond "It's Mixed Chicks" and provide their web address. They have been gracious enough to provide samples and I've given them to my daycare providers, strangers in grocery stores, co-workers and even other patrons in restaurants!!! I wash my hair. Add about a silver dollar sized squirt of mixed chicks, run it through my hair. I blow dry on a medium setting with a diffuser. It lasts all day. On days when I am running late, I can spray water and do a little scrunching and its good to go! Anyone with curly hair dreads when someone tries to touch it. This product works so well that I don't mind when my boyfriend plays with the curls!! My son is 5 and also has curls. I also use the Leave-In Conditioner on him. Everyone loves his hair, he calls them his "Curlies!!" Mixed Chicks ROCKS!!

I saw this product in Parenting magazine and wanted to try it on my daughter. She has very curly hair with the back turning into banana type curls. I actually bought 3 of the sample packs to try it out on me and her. I tried the shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner and that was a little heavy on her. Then I tried the deep conditioner by itself (after using normal baby shampoo) and it worked GREAT! I give her a bath and night and her hair looked kinda crazy in the morning after sleeping on it but with just a little spritz of water her hair sprung back into place and looked awesome. I got so many compliments on her hair that day, so many that I wanted to try it on my natural curly hair. I used the leave in conditioner with a diffuser and mousse for curly hair. It made my hair that has started to thin amazingly full!!! I looked at my hair in the afternoon and it looked a little flat so I put my fingers in there and moved my hair around and it popped back into place. I just kept doing that all day at my desk at work and everyone told me that my hair looked really good yesterday. I am getting on here now to buy the big bottle for me and my daughter and giving one sample to my mom and the other one to a co worker for her daughter that has curly hair. I was a little hesitant to try this product because I am white, my daughter is 1/2 puerto rican, and from the web site I thought the product leaned more towards ethnic hair.
