I just started using this product..I have very curly hair. Usually during humid days it would end up all frizzy and looking like a birds nest! I have tried ALOT of different shampoos and conditioners for my hair but this product is amazing!! I have wavy hair with loose curls and it as been very difficult to find a product that will keep my hair moisturized. I like the shampoo it smells good, very gentle and lathers very well. It just dried my hair out a little and I'm not used to that. That is the only bad thing I can say about it but I will still use it for every wash until I run out. I am not sure I would purchase it again.

MixedChicks.net responds: Our gentle clarifying shampoo is good for deep cleaning. It should only be used 1 or 2x per week. For more frequent washes, try out SULFATE FREE shampoo. It has is moisture-rich and will go easy on color.

I must have viewed product reviews a dozen times before finally purchasing several products from your line.I wasn't the least bit concerned until I viewed the "chemicals" found in your shampoo, particularly ALS, a drying agent and detergent. Most shampoos are found to have this ingredient however, I was attracted to your product because of the moisturizing qualities you presented. I'm somewhat confused, simply because I was expecting more of a natural product. In any event, I will gladly use your products and let you know how all turns out with the shampoo. Wanted to use this on my twins' hair but afraid, only because I have always used organic shampoos minus harsh detergents on their hair. Maybe I'll co-wash instead!

I rarely use conditioners and just detangle with shampoo. Most clarifying shampoos make your hair dry and strip it of its natural moisture. Not with the clarifying shampoo. I keep my moisture and my hair gets detangled in no time.

I am 100% Mexican not mixed at all and I love this product! My hair is straight, heavy, thick and dry. I also have an oily scalp. Many products that work for my hair will cause my scalp to flake or itch. I do not use any "heat" on my hair or color it (I do not blow dry, flat iron it or curl it) I currently live in Kabul, Afghanistan. The water is full of chlorine ~ it seems to dry out my skin and hair. I read about this in a magazine (not sure which one) and decided to try it out. I ordered three sample packs (THANK YOU MixedChicks dot com for [...] it to my APO address) I thought I would use 2 and give one to a friend. The samples are generous! The shampoo seemed very thick in the shower. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to rinse it all out. It seemed to "heavy" and bit "greasy". I let it dry overnight. I woke up to the softest hair. It was so smooth and full of bounce! I did not know how dry my hair was until I used this shampoo (along with the use of their conditioner). Please don't hesitate to try this product - you will be amazed how great this product is!

Did not think I would like this, never have used a clarifing shampoo however, I love it. Leaves my hair clean and ready for the deep conditioner. I am a really curly redhead and have been having a very long, dry, frizzy winter with my extra long spirals in one shampoo, deep condition and leave in my hair looks like I have always wanted it too. Hello everyone! I am a mixed chick (half-Greek, half-Guyanese) with crazy hair. Its thick and a similar length to Kim's hair, but I suffer from "multi-textured hair syndrome." The front is definitely more manageable than the middle and back. It has more of a wave curl, but there are some straight parts on the left that never want to curl. The middle of my hair is VERY thick. From the crown to the nape, my hair is like an afro but then the ends thin out (maybe that means i need a cut, idk). Then the bottom and sides are thick but have my favorite type of curls (similar to those Kim has at the bottoms of her hair). Doing my hair is a battle everyday and my girlfriend just shakes her head and says she feels sorry for me and all that hair lol. I can never find a product to hydrate my hair, control the frizz while giving it movement, and make all the curls the same. Whether that uniformity ends up being a looser or kinkier curl doesn't really matter to me once it's all the same. I had a lot of faith in MIXED CHICKS after reading reviews and doing research, so I went out and bought the shampoo, deep conditioner, and jumbo leave-in conditioner because if it did work, I knew I would want a lot of it on-hand. The first time I used the products, I wasn't feeling it and I was upset. But I have given it more tries and I'm seeing different things each time. Overall, I've noticed that while the shampoo smells great and feels good as I put it on, my hair gets way too dry when I wash it out. I have noticed, however, that my scalp itches a million times LESS with this product and I LOVE that because I was a "chronic itcher" right in the crown area. It was so bad it was starting to thin out! MIXED CHICKS is definitely helping with that.

well, I would't use this everyday. But what I like is that it cleans my hair very well. And it is a mild clarifying formula so you don't have to worry about build up. Some people say it is to drying but I think they maybe using it to often. so bottom line it is my favorite shampoo to date.

I bought this product for my twin daughters that are mixed chicks. I am not a mixed chick but am African American with Natural hair. Needless to say my hair is very curly and can be out of control. I've broken a few combs trying to manage it. When I used the shampoo I instantly could feel a difference in my hair, it was softer and felt very clean as I washed it. After drying it still feels so soft and smells good too. I love this product! Can't wait for my next purchase of all liters for all the products. I have been using this product exclusively together with the Deep Conditioner and Leave-in Conditioner for a year-and-a-half now. I can honestly say, after 54 years of dealing with very thick, very curly, uncontrollably frizzy hair, these products have made all the difference in the world. I like to wash and go with minimal styling and this product has allowed me to do exactly that.
